One thing I think would have helped all the newbies running around CA this weekend would probably to have included a RES-SIG in the premade build everyone was using..
l33t hacker -"omg im dead res you n00b wtf!"
pvp previewer - "rez? whats that?"

What I would have done was have a Trial Client Only district/server where only players using the trial key went, or at least have all the arenas only pit players against other Trial Clients so they can get a better feel for the game without being gangraped by experienced players.

Well you DID say that you werent gonna play the rest of the weekend in your first post.
So that SORTA nullifies "so far"

The pre-builds suck??? Really, I honestly hadn't noticed. While it did take me about an hour to get used to my new Ritualist (Earth Binder), after that hour I was fine. Sure, the pre-build isn't uber, but then who wants it to be? I had no problem getting the necessary wins to make each of the arenas and even did a stint in HA, on the new character, with the pre-build. Once I had a ridiculous amount of faction I then went and spent it on skills and did change some, but largely kept it the same.
I've said this 100 times before. ANY build can work (yes, even pre-builds), it all depends on the player.

If you have problems with runners, bring a cripple skill?
And also, pre-builds usually have some sort of disadvantage (intentional or unintentional)
Example:
Brutal Bombadier - Has no heals what so ever..
This is where player instincts come in, what can I ditch to heal? Hmm the Ritualist res skill could be replaced with a res signet, and with those points I could put them into Wilderness survival along with a minor rune getting a +5 troll ungeunt. Which is better then nothing.

To the best of my knowledge, res signet is not unlockable with faction. Maybe I just missed it (always a possibility), but that means all the people on trial accounts had no choice about brining it or not. And, of course, you can expect very few new players to choose a single time res over one that they can use multiple times. Well, just tossing that out there. . .

True, but I'm directing this towards random arenas, which seems to attract the less organized players. And in random arenas, teamwork is not an option its every man for himself, heck half the time you sacrifice yourself for an ally in danger they won't return the favor.
(I think res signet, isn't unlockable my mistake.)

i just want to say , it was great to see so many guildless people completely lost and amazed with the game ... a massive income of fresh people .. i spent some time in pvp towns just chating with them ... asking what they think about the game , if they are going to buy it etc etc ...
Great weekend Anet
